The transition from womenswear to menswear is an intricate move, one that requires and a focus on transitional pieces rather than season highlights. With that in mind the Phoebe English MAN Spring/Summer ’17 collection took the ethos of her house and relayed it for the male wardrobe with a clean and functional aesthetic.
With an approachable palette of white, grey and navy the collection took sportier hints in the form of cotton joggers and bomber jackets. Finishing was also key with brushed cottons, striped linens and crisp shirting a theme throughout. This acted as the perfect contrast to the Embroidery frames that sat as a backdrop to the looks - in homage to the earthy nature of fabrics used.
Phoebe’s background in womenswear has clearly gone some way in establishing her menswear platform. Wearable and born out of natural fibres it’s form first approach will surely become core to the brands DNA.
